Discover How To Become Wealthy!

Jerry Springberg
People who don’t know me are surprised that I survived the Dry Cleaning let down when wash and wear came in from 1964 to 1972. Many dry cleaners went out of business and my business went down 50% because people were putting their seer sucker suits and blankets and dresses and whatever could be washed and not dry cleaned.

I went to my friend who ran a Tuxedo sales and rental near me. He suggested that I could put another store in my building for Tuxedoes. He put all of his Dry cleaning needs with me and I paid him 50% of what I got from Renting Tuxedoes. By the end of a year, my business was higher than I had enjoyed before wash and wear came in.

But I had to put in 6.5 days a week with dry cleaning and Tuxedoes. In the second year of doing this I mentioned to my wife Nancy that the three children were growing up without me.

We received an invitation from a developer in Arizona who called his development Lake Havasu City. We took the plane ride and found it to be interesting. While there we purchased a home lot and an apartment lot.

When we arrived in Lake Havasu City, AZ, in 1973, we made up for our being apart for almost a year by spending our time together and making up for the time we lost. By 1978, there were 8,000 people in Lake Havasu City. By 1990, we were up to 40,000 people.

People are surprised that we stuck it out when McCulloch Corps. In 1978, fired half of their employees and since there were no other jobs available, they left town. I was coming home on the Highway leading into Lake Havasu City, when I saw fourteen you hauls leaving town.

When I walked in to the kitchen my wife was crying since she had no money to buy the kids shoes to start school. I asked her if she wanted to leave and we both decided to stay.

I TOLD HER THAT SHE WOULD NEVER HAVE MONEY PROBLEMS ANYMORE. I sold Life Insurance and Investments. I was asked to participate in three commercial buildings.

I was a millionaire by 1992 and a Multimillionaire by 2002. How I did it is in my book Getting to the Top/ An Optimists Keys to Success in Business, Family and Life.

How I brought up my children as I was brought up to work hard and to stay married is in my Book “Getting to the Top/An Optimist’s Keys to Success in Business, Family and Life”.

How I was able to play tennis Monday, Wedsday and Friday mornings which relaxed me and enabled me to increase my Investment business by 15% a year for 22 years. I kept records of my progress which I still have.

When Nancy and I left in 2003 and retired to Las Vegas, Nevada, the population had grown to somewhere between 51 thousand and 53 thousand. I believe it’s in the 60’s or 70’s now.

Since we have retired to Las Vegas, I have invested in Rentals in Lake Havasu City. My youngest son took over the business and paid me for it. The other two boys are a lawyer and an engineer.

How we stayed married until Nancy died on our 54th anniversary is in the book. She was 75. I am 82 right now and will be 83 in December. I am in perfect health and I send emails to my Book owners on how to stay healthy and stay together with their spouses. I understand that 51% of all that get married become divorced.

There’s a lot more to talk about but I will as time goes by. It’s amazing.
